Civic Theatre, built for the Otaki Borough Council in 1938 by W. Williamson Construction Co. Ltd. Final payment July 1939.
The architects were Natusch & Sons, founded by Charles Natusch, who designed several noteworthy buildings.
At this time the firm was in the hands of his three sons, Aleck, Rene and Stanley. They were involved in the reconstruction of Napier after the 1931 earthquake, and the Art Deco influence can be seen in the Civic Theatre.
